Here we go, finally, I have figured out how to not have my podcast have nearly half a minute of silence at the start. Told you I’d get there eventually. Anyways, here we have the episode based on Scotland. When I think Scottish music, Chvrches and Franz Ferdinand are really the only things that come to my mind immediately. That’s kind of bad, I know, considering how much great music you can find there. While anyone who knows me knows that I have always been something of a stickler for rules, I have always had sort of a love for revolution and independence/anarchy. That part of me has always supported the movement for Scottish independence from the UK. I know that there would be many problems with Scotland leaving the UK, both economic and social issues, but that part of that enjoys seeing chaos just thinks it would be, neat for the world. I italicize neat because that is the only way I can try and get my point across. Right, I should also mention that the above support for Scottish independence is, of course, my personal view, and not that Hendrix College. Honestly, referendums do not seem like the best way to create ground breaking huge laws. You can contest either side all you want, but all it takes is just a little fear mongering and you can sway any referendum in whichever way you want. Sorry, this blog post is leaving Scotland. Coming back to the highlands now, I do think it is funny of how many stories I was able to share about the bands from there, both mine and my friend’s experiences. Perhaps the Scots are just more approachable? Maybe not in the case of my friend though.
