Welcome to this Funked Up! weekly podcast. This week was Funk Classics & Fresh Surprises, in which we busted out some familiar funk classics sprinkled with modern surprises (with only a couple hiccups!). This show is intended as a little primer for what funk is, and includes some jabber from me about the musical meaning of the genre. Thanks for checking the show out, and look forward to the “Funk Boundary” special show coming up next week, focused on the synthesis of funk in the 60s and early 70s and featuring the music of Ray Charles, James Brown, Sly & the Family Stone, Parliament-Funkadelic, the Temptations and the Meters.
