Hey, Guys what’s up! It’s DJ. Mad.E.C, coming to you live (relatively) from my screen to yours! So I’m going to be doing a new thing where I will give you guys the blessing of two songs that are near and dear to my heart. One song will be an old song from my past, and the second song will be new song that has recently spoken to me. I will tell you why they speak to me, and why they should also speak to you. I will do this every month, unless there is something new that strikes my fancy! So here ya go!
Song #1 is a song from my past: 9 crimes by Damien Rice. This song came out in 2006 and during that time I was going through a rough breakup ( I know, generic right?) and was feeling generally sucky about myself. But listening to this song reminded me that not everyone is perfect, and that everyone has flaws. It’s soothing tones and gentle admission of humanity spoke to me and I believe that if you’re in a bad place this song could speak to you to.
Song #2 is a song from a more recent time: This is Gospel by Panic at the Disco. I feel like this song is power chant to the flawed, something to inspire and remind to always fight for what’s right for you. They say in the song “If you love me, let me go” giving rise to pumping hearts that believe they are worth more than what anyone else can give! If you ever feel the need to be uplifted and inspired give this song a listen and I promise you won’t regret it!
