Hello and welcome to this Funked Up weekly podcast. This week was the Return Show, in which we busted out some familiar funk classics sprinkled with modern surprises. This show is intended as a little primer for what funk is, and includes some jabber from me about the musical meaning of the genre. Thanks for checking the show out, and look forward to the “Funk Boundary” special show coming up next week, focused on the synthesis of funk in the 60s and early 70s and featuring James Brown, Ray Charles, Sly and the Family Stone and Parliament-Funkadelic.

Howdy! I'm a sophomore Biology major and I've done the funk/r&b/soul show Funked Up! here on KHDX since fall 2015 with a hiatus last fall.
