Hey all,
For this show, we did La La Land! I love this musical so much, despite the…let’s say dubious cultural implications (I mean seriously, a WHITE guy saving jazz, A WHITE GUY). Honestly, this film was just amazing and deserved a Best Picture nomination, but not the Best Picture award. The music of the film is phenomenal, whether it be the actual score or the “Musical-esque” songs. Rach and I had decided to choose this musical because it is much more contemporary than our previous two choices, Wicked and The Sound of Music. We also had hoped to escape the binds of classic films and musicals for even a second, and thus chose La La Land.
