This week we read “Troubled Waters,” a short story by Bertrand W. Sinclair, which you can read here. It’s a cowboy story with beautiful imagery and some unfortunate views on women! Such is life in the public domain. We didn’t quite have time to finish it, we’ll just have to wait for next week!

Today’s compare and contrast was “Fare Thee Well, Miss Carousel” by Townes Van Zandt and “Roll On” by Dntel. Both cyclical songs about less-than-perfect relationships, though Zandt’s character decides to leave his paramour and Dntel’s decides to try and settle down.

See you for more misogynist cowboys next week!

Your DJ/Dinner Companion,
Drew
