This week’s episode focuses on the mid to late 70s punk rock movement in the US and the UK. The albums played were Ramones, the debut punk album by the Ramones, Nevermind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols, the debut punk album by the Sex Pistols, and The Clash, the debut punk album by The Clash. This movement would go on to influence many other genres including post-punk, grunge, and heavy metal. The albums discussed in today’s episode are, like most albums on this show, initially flops and then years later gain much more recognition for their brilliance. (The Sex Pistols shown below).
