Hey everyone! In this episode, Jakob and I discuss our thoughts on the 2001 animated film, Spirited Away. I definitely think this is one of the more difficult discussions that we have had. There’s an air of magic and wonder to this movie that’s really hard to quantify that makes it so great to watch, but that also means its harder to point to formal elements to explain our thoughts on it. We give our takes on that magic here, but if anyone out there has an idea about what contributes or generates it, I would be really interested to hear. As always, feel free to ask to be a guest on a future show or to send any thoughts on the subject to my email account at In the next episode, Jakob and I will talk about Zack Snyder’s Justice League so stay on the lookout for that!
