Welcome! This is the first episode of my new show “Book Nook” for all of your literary and jazz needs. In this episode, we analyze the speech from Act V Scene V of Shakespeare’s famous play Macbeth.
Personally speaking, I love Macbeth’s speech at the end of the play as it can be taken in so many ways. People like Sir Patrick Stewart have a bunch of grief, Eccleston does mockery, and Washington is very solemn and quiet in his approach to this famous speech. We will discuss both of these and more on today’s episode! We will go line by line through the speech and pull other speeches from the play to ask questions about the well-being of Macbeth, allegories, and if the Fates truly have power by virtue of them being higher beings or because Macbeth believed they truly had power.
