Hello, Everyone!
Welcome back to the 3rd episode of the Book Nook! Today we are discussing Roman poetry with freshman student Jordon Olson, host of The Morning every day from 630AM-8AM. Martial is an interesting figure to me as he seems conservative as an aristocrat, but he critiques everything about everyone, which led me to wonder, is he? If he is, then why does he critique Roman society? If he isn’t, then what is he? All of these questions led to the creation of this episode where we will explore who Martial was and what he stood for by analyzing his poems known as The Epigrams.
