Hey, Everyone!
Welcome back to another episode of the Book Nook. Today we are discussing Marc Antony’s speech from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. This speech is a great one for analysis since there are so many interpretations of Antony from the past 400 years that we can pluck and examine. I chose to do Brando, Heston, and Lewis for this episode since I was familiar with Brando and Lewis, and I just wanted to do more film and video analysis of speeches since not all good speeches or all good literature is just in books or in poetry, but on the silver screen. This episode reminds us not only to remain in reason and to think through what a demagogue says, but to think through where good speeches are.
St. James Infirmary. – Cab Calloway
