Komako Kimura

Komako Kimura was a Japanese suffragist, actress, dancer, theater manager, and magazine editor before World War II. Her work shaped the women’s rights and women’s suffrage movement in Japan.  She is well known for participating in suffragist movements in the United States, where she learned crucial tactics to further the movement back in Japan.
